Trying out the texture thingy

Alright, I hate Edward Cullen (the thought of him with Bella, at least), but this picture was so sweet, I wanted to color it. ^^
I'mma complete NEWB at photoshop, I'm not sure if I even colored it right but here's what I did:
Insert picture... Insert five more layers... *color the desired area randomly*... *erase the parts not meant to be colored*... Next layer... *color randomly...

So on and so forth, is that how you do it? xDD I dunno, but I'm proud. I've been so busy making pictures for a school project, so NO WAY I'm gonna upload those. I just started coloring this with whatever free time I have... Took four days
